Asagi Sakran House
Aliaga, İzmir, Turkey
The design practices Architectural Design and Interior Design principles in Asagi Sakran Village of Aliaga, İzmir, 2020 for a family of 4.
This project explores the intersection of structural heritage and contemporary living, emphasizing an honest use of raw, tactile materials to ground the architecture in its environment.
Rooted in the Landscape The exterior visualizes a dialogue between rustic masonry and clean, modernist planes. By utilizing weathered stone facades alongside exposed concrete and natural wood decking, the structure achieves a timeless, lived-in character. The integration of the geometric water feature and terraced landscaping softens the robust architectural lines, ensuring the building feels organically embedded within its natural surroundings rather than imposed upon it.
Interior Study: Industrial Elegance The kitchen space focuses on structural honesty and tactile contrasts. Cast concrete countertops and rich wood finishes provide a solid, industrial foundation that converses directly with the exposed stone masonry. To balance these heavy, raw textures, a vibrant blue herringbone backsplash is introduced, creating a precise, rhythmic focal point that elevates the space while respecting the integrity of the natural materials.
